My Story
I joined the army in April of 1984. Fort Benning, GA. Infantry, dragon gunner. Who doesn't like a single-man, 6' wire guided missile! Transferred to the 239th MP Co, Louisiana Army National Guard. Traveled the world and learned a lot.

Got hired on as a fire fighter at the Baton Rouge Fire department, in 1986. 9 years on the engine before getting promoted into investigations. Where I worked the majority of my career.

Started from scratch playing hockey in the 2000-2001 season in BRUHA. Took skating classes and played pick up in Lafayette. Met and are still friends with uncountable people through the military, fire department, and hockey. All of which have the same sense of humor. (If you know what I mean)

When I retired in 2016 my connections with and through hockey helped me transition flawlessly. I haven't looked back, and being a part of and seeing the great work that AVH is doing, makes me proud to be a member.

We all love us some Robby. Whether he’s cooking up some of his famous food or just always being there for another person in need to either lend a hand to or just sit and talk, we are grateful to have veterans like him to be there for any and everyone.
